What is steel long PSL of Adit? A full explanation for connecting a sandwich panel to the tunnels

Self-drilling steel screw is long (Long Self-Drilling Screw for Sandwich Panels) Self-drilling steel screw Dedicated to connecting isolated panels (Plan Sandwich) directly to metallic lines (beams) in the Goths and Fronts. Unlike shorter screws designed for a few minutes, Self-drilling steel screw is long equipped with a long drilling knife (Long Point 5) that is capable of drilling and regulating a steel or aluminum profile in the thickness of the thickness of the thickness of the thickness of the steel or aluminum. Up to 12 mm Without every early nigger.

What distinguishes PSL is The unique bi-chasal geometryThe screw is built from two areas of Burga in different diameters. In the beginning of the body (P1, the knife side) the diameter is 6.3 mm (ST6.3) and later the body (P2, the front side) is small to the diameter.5.5 mmm (ST5.5). This unique structure – combined with the long drilling knife – makes PSL a .Self-drilling steel screw is long The ultimate job is fast, safe and you will buy thick beams.

When is the self-drilling screw long PSL? The screw is designed to connect sandwich panels to the contraceptions (such as the IPE/HEA) and thick structural profiles with 6-12 mm thickness. The screw comes with the EPDM return to a complete seal, allowing quick work and you will also buy large and complex projects.

Advantages steel is long PSL - not all long self-drilling screw is the same.

  • Long Point 5: The length of a 15-mm knife – double normal competitors – enables direct penetration into steel and aluminum rows in thickness 6-12 mm Without a cold early.
  • A unique bipolar geometry: The diameter of 6.3 mm (P1, p.m., 1.8 mm) and 5.5 mm later (P2, p.m., circulating 1.05 mm) – a structure that increases the load of the fire and prevents self-liberation even under heavy wind loads.
  • Technical data is happy: Values of fun and precision gem for each thickness of the steel and aluminum profile (allowed for sure and proprietary engineering planning).
  • resistance is proven on the ground: steel C1035 is made in the cold glories (Atlantis C4) Self-drilling steel screw is long Not broken, unresolved, and not disappointed in a thick condition.
  • A dedicated EPDM: All the screw bars are available with EPDM to a Hermetic Tom; the lengths of 255 and 285 mm come with a return from the beginning.
  • A wide range of lengths: 75–285 mm in 10 different lights Self-drilling steel screw is long Each type of panel thickness and any type happens.
  • Support and engineering responsibility: Adit engineers are available to help select the model, calculate load and conform to strict building regulations. ← citation-7976110.

PSL’s bipolar geometry – which distinguishes the long-fung screw

The screw Body Building: A Long, Two Bags, Two Different Horses

Unlike theSelf-drilling steel screw Ordinary with one diameter and a short knife, the PSL is built with three separate functional areas and complementary:

A long drilling knife
15 mm (Long Point)
P1 - 6.3 mm
I have 1.8 mm.
P2 - 5.5 mm
105 mm
  • Long Point 5: Long Point 5. This is the difference between PSL and regular PS3. The long knife allows you to penetrate steel and aluminum beams in thickness up to 12 mm, twice the ability of the steel and aluminum in the thickness of up to 12 mm, Self-drilling steel screw Standard. Without a cold early, without the stay.
  • P1 – diameter of 6.3 mm, rash 1.8 mm (side the knife - in the Cora profile): The first and largest screw is in the wrong and creates a strong grip on the subject material. The colonization allows rapid progress through the thick steel.
  • P2 – diameter 5.5 mm, 105 m (side the head - in the panel): The thinr drive connects the panel and creates the “recoct” effect that draws the panel towards the corona. The difference between the two rows and the various trips ensures a close and durable connection over the years.

Why are the different travel important? PSL is not identical (1.8 mm vs. 1.05 mm) – unlike PS3, where they are 1.8 mm. The difference creates an active “review” that extends the panel towards the cortex while the screw, and ensures a dramatic and friendly connection with very thick panels.

installation guide Fast steel long PSL for a sandwich panel on the self-drilling screw

  1. mark the point of penetration: A slight suffocation with a precision pyroth will prevent the long drill knife in the beginning of the round. Especially important when drilling out parts.
  2. Prepare the right screw: The speed of drilling in steel: 1,000–1,800 rpm. . . The drilling speed in the nigger: 600–1000 rpm. Maximum drilling time: 11 seconds. Maximum installation: 10.4 Nm. . . It is recommended to use the Impect-Blammite - but it should be immediately discontinued with the screw-head attacher to the panel.
  3. The screw in the profile: Hold the screw in 90 degrees to the material and uniform pressure. The Braga in an angle with Self-drilling steel screw is long It causes the breaking of the drill knife, a weak connection and a poor atom.
  4. Stop with the screw and the evasion: With the screw-up, stop. It is imperative to make sure that the ov (EPDM) is uniformly compressed but not completely hurdle – it is the key to a mountainous seal against rain and water to the panel.

Common Questions and Answers (FAQ) – Self-drilling steel screw Long PSL for a sandwich panel

What is the steel steel long PSL and what distinguishes it from a regular self-drilling screw?

Self-drilling steel screw is long equipped with a long drilling knife (Long Point, 15 mm) that enables direct penetration into steel and aluminum in thickness up to 12 mm – without early suffocation. Self-drilling steel screw (such as PS3) includes a shorter knife (7.5–9 mm) and is intended for only 6 mm-minute strips. In addition, PSL has different trips in the two areas of the ga (1.8 mm and 1.05 mm) that create an active stretch of the panel towards the coronation.

What is the difference between PSL and PS3 and when do you use each?

PS3 Designed for connecting a sandwich panel to(straps/purlins) - Thin profiles up to 6 mm thick, with a 3-7.5-9-meter drilling knife and identical trips 1.8/1.8 mm. PSL (Self-drilling steel screw) is designed to connect a panel to a long steel.(Bams) - thick profiles 6-12 mm, with a long-term drilling knife point 5 (15 mm) and various trips 1.8/1.05 mm. The choice is simple: PS3, sps.

How do you choose the steel long PSL length as the panel thickness is?

The formula: thickness of the sandwich panel + the thickness of the corona + minimum 10 mm overlapping barge in the kernel = the length required. For example, a panel of 120 mm on a 10mm event requires a screw of at least 140 mm, meaning PSL55150 (150 mm). The product page table lists the range of the panel themes suitable for each MacT.

Why is Self-drilling steel screw long PSL having two different trips?

Unlike PS3 in which the two identical (1.8mm) trips are designed with P1 in a rough rash (1.8 mm) to a rapid penetration through the thick beam, and P2 in a thin rash (1.05 mm) for a delicate and maintained sensory slab. The difference in the travel creates an active “review”: P1 is moving faster than P2 and pulling the panel strong toward the coronation with each rotation, which ensures close contact and atom connection.

What is PSL’s robe and what environments is it suitable for?

Lighting up to 230 mm is in the coating. Cold galvanised (Suitable for indoor environments and protected tipping), and guests 255 and 285 mm come in the coating. Atlantis C4 - Advanced coating and durability to difficult external conditions and corrosion measurements. Most aggressive environments (a coastline, industrial areas), should be considered Self-drilling steel screw is long From the ABEI series.

What is EPDM and why is it critical in PSL?

In connection with a sandwich panel to the cabin, Self-drilling steel screw is long Pass through all the thickness of the panel and create a hole in both face – a sensitive point for raining. A EPDM (Twitter-resistance rubber disk for UV rays and extreme temperatures) is swiped with the screw hook and creates a thermal seal around the hole. In the U.S., 255 and 285 mm are the result of the EPDM return in the first place; the rest of the guests can be required with the order.

Can PSL connect a panel to aluminium profile?

Yes, PSL is happy to connect to aluminum, but there are two important things: first, the injection load in aluminum is lower than in steel – it should be done according to the aluminum load table. Second, Self-drilling steel screw In connection with aluminum in an exposed outdoor environment, it can cause a global corrosion. In moisturizers it is recommended to move to stainless veins (ABEI).

What is the difference between Nrd and Nrk (typically)?

Typical failure load (Nrk) is the prescribed in destructive laboratory tests. Do not plan project by the failure load! Engineers divide Nrk in a suitable safety promotion (according to international standards) to reach the Nrd (safe planning tax). Conservative design can also be used in the recommended load. Adit provides all three data in the technical tables of the Adit.Self-drilling steel screw is long.

Why is the long Self-drilling steel screw knife broken?

The common causes: the junction at an angle (no 90 degrees), high-speed use of 1,800 rpm, attempt to drill a thick profile from 12 mm (over PSL), non-unitical pressure at the start of the drilling, or use the use of a thick profile from 12 mm (over PSL)Self-drilling steel screw is long From cheap and unhappy sources with steel. Absorient profiles from 12 mm should be considered using a series AUTO With a very long knife.

Can you break up and re-engine PSL in the same hole?

You can break the .Self-drilling steel screw is long, but Really not recommended Return and use the same hole in the same hole. The double screw (6.3+ 5.5 mm) is glittered in the screw and a guy together. The re-marriage will significantly damage the suffering of the supplement. In cases of re-disengagement, a new screw should be replaced and located at a new point, or moved to a larger diameter.

What is the recommended barbaric veins for PSL Burgi at a roof panel?

The barbaric aroma depends on the wind and snow melts in the area, in the type of panel, in the roof geometry and in the cool spaces. There is no single standard “review” – the planner must calculate the discharge according to the relevant serviceloads and the relevant service taxes.Self-drilling steel screw is long What are the tables. What is a Sandwich-Panel Screw?

Insulated sandwich panels – two metal skins with an insulating core – are thick, so the fastener has to reach through the whole panel and still drill and grip the steel structure behind it. The ADIT PSL is the heavy-duty long screw for that job: it fixes deep panels straight to thick steel purlins in one pass, with a slim drilling section that cuts the steel and a wider thread that grips the panel.

The advantage: one screw fixes a thick insulated panel straight to heavy steel – no pre-drilling, no separate fasteners – for fast, secure, weather-tight roofs and walls even on deep sections.

PSL is a two-diameter screw (a 5.5 mm drilling section and a 6.3 mm thread) in carbon steel C1035, cold-galvanized for standard use or Atlantis C4-coated in the longest, most exposed lengths. With a 15 mm drill blade it drills and fastens steel up to 12 mm thick (and aluminium), in lengths from 75 to 285 mm, and takes an EPDM sealing washer for weather-tight roof and wall fixings. For thinner steel and shorter panels the lighter PS3 is the economical choice.

Applications

Thick insulated roof panels

Deep sandwich roof panels fixed to thick steel purlins, weather-tight with an EPDM washer.

Thick wall & façade panels

Deep insulated wall panels fastened to the steel structure behind them.

Cold-store & freezer panels

The thickest insulated panels, where deep cores and heavy structure need a long screw.

Heavy steel purlins

Fixing straight through the panel into structural steel up to 12 mm.

Industrial & logistics buildings

Large warehouses and plants clad in thick sandwich panels.

Aluminium substructures

Also drives into aluminium; the datasheet gives separate aluminium load values.

Installation Guide

1 · Mark & position

Mark the fixing point and hold the screw perpendicular (90°) to the panel and the steel behind it.

2 · Set the speed

Use a high-speed screwdriver – 1000–1800 rpm in steel. Keep steady pressure through the deep panel until the point reaches the steel.

3 · Drill through

Let the drilling section cut fully through the steel before the thread engages; keep the total thickness within the drill-point length.

4 · Seat & seal

Stop as the head seats – do not overtighten. With an EPDM washer, compress until the seal just spreads for a weather-tight fixing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PSL used for?

PSL fixes thick insulated sandwich panels to heavy steel structure in a single pass – roofs and walls with deep panels or thick purlins. It reaches through the panel and drills and grips steel up to 12 mm behind it.

What is the difference between PSL and PS3?

Both are long two-diameter panel screws. PS3 drills steel up to 6 mm, in lengths from 60 to 230 mm. PSL is the heavier version – a longer 15 mm drill blade drills steel up to 12 mm, in lengths to 285 mm, for thicker panels and structure.

Why does PSL have two diameters?

The slim drilling section (5.5 mm) cuts a clean hole in the steel purlin, while the wider thread (6.3 mm) grips the panel. This lets one screw both drill the steel and hold a deep panel securely.

Does PSL give a weather-tight fixing?

Yes – add an EPDM sealing washer, which compresses against the panel skin to seal the fixing against water. The longest lengths are supplied with an EPDM washer.

What is the difference between Nrk and Nrd?

Nrk is the characteristic failure load; Nrd is the design load the engineer uses – Nrk divided by the safety factors required by the relevant standard. Always design with Nrd. The datasheet lists Nrk, Nrd and recommended (Nrec) values for steel and aluminium.
