What is self-drilling screw PS3 of Adit? Full explanation for a sandwich panel and anchors

self-drilling screw PS3 (Self-Drilling Screw for Sandwich Panels) is a dedicated co-author for the connection of isolated panels (Patch panel) to steel and aluminum profiles. The self-drilling screw and is involved in one continuous operation – without the need for a nibbling or drilling early – while creating a close, atom and a durable connection.

What distinguishes PS3 is The double-stage geometry of the Burge bodyThe screw is built from two areas of Burga in different diameters. In the beginning of the body (P1) the diameter is 6.3 mm (ST6.3) and the body later (P2) is small to the diameter.5.5 mmm (ST5.5). This unique structure gives the screw the capabilities of beautiful, broza and unusual seals.

When is the PS3 screw used? The screw is designed to connect sandwich panels directly to a metallic profile (steel or aluminum), with a thickness of up to 6 mm. The screw comes with the EPDM return to a complete seal, allowing quick and fast work.

The Advantages of screw PS3 - Not every screw for a sandwich is the same.

  • A unique bipolar geometry: The diameter of 6.3 mm in the beginning (P1) and 5.5 mm later (P2) - a structure that increases the load of the fire and prevents the self-limitation of the screw over time.
  • Technical data is happy: Values of fun and precision gem for each thickness of the steel and aluminum profile (allowed for sure and proprietary engineering planning).
  • direct fastening technology for Chanel: The self-drilling screw and Brig in one action – without a pre-emptive nigger, without accessories and without “death time” on the ground.
  • resistance is proven on the ground: steel C1035 is made in the cold glories (Atlantis C4) – not broken, unresolved, and not disappointing on difficult roof conditions.
  • A dedicated EPDM: All the screw bars can be ordered with the EPDM to perfect seal; 195 and 230 mm s come with a return in the first place.
  • Support and engineering responsibility: Adit engineers are available to help select the model, calculate load and conform to strict building regulations. ← citation-7976110.

PS3's bipolar geometry - which distinguishes the screw

The screw Body Building: Two Cotters, Two Brebra Areas

Unlike a normal self-drilling screw with one diameter throughout its entire body, the PS3 is built with two separate and complementary screws:

The drilling knife
7.5–9 mm
P1 - 6.3 mm
I have 1.8 mm.
P2 - 5.5 mm
I have 1.8 mm.
  • P1 – diameter of 6.3 mm (head of the burglar - side of the knife): The first, largest, coded and passed through the steel/Aluminium profile. The big diameter creates a strong initial grip on the subject profile.
  • P2 – diameter 5.5 mm (the screw body) The second, smaller screw, enters the sandwich panel. The difference between the two rows creates the “recorded” effect that draws the panel toward the presidential profile and strengthens the load of the supplement.
  • The length of the drill knife: 7.5–9 mm = drilling up to 6 mm thick profile.

Why is it important? The biquatrial structure ensures that the panel is “intropped” between the two screws and cannot be released. The current loads are significantly higher than the screw with one diameter, and the connection remains stable even under wind and seismic loads.

Technical data is happy – link to steel Profile

The following data constitute the basis for safe structural planning with the PS3 screw. All values in tables are in KN to a single screw, the diameter of ST5.5 (Borg P2). Note: The values listed below are typical failure loads (Nrk/Vrk). For engineering planning, appropriate safety promotions should be applied. The planner must also make sure the profile itself suffers for a tear.

Note: The infusion in the giraffe does not occur in the resolution of the profile (steel or aluminum). The plan must be checked to examine the profile’s suffering for the release of the final gem. Using the bars from steel to a aluminum connection can cause a global corrosion.

installation guide Fast – screw PS3 for Sandwich

  1. mark the point of penetration: A slight plaque with a precision marque will prevent the break of the screw knife at the beginning of the round, especially important in partial panel materials.
  2. Prepare the right screw: The speed of drilling in steel: 1,000–1,800 rpm. . . The drilling speed in the nigger: 600–1000 rpm. Maximum installation: 10.4 Nm. . . Amphect can be used - but it should be stopped immediately with the screw head attacher to the panel.
  3. The screw in the profile: Hold the screw in 90 degrees to the material and uniform pressure. The quarant rang up causes the breaking of the drill knife, a weak connection and a poor atom.
  4. Stop with the screw and the evasion: When the screw is suffocated and comes to the necessary tighter-stop. It is imperative to make sure that the ov (EPDM) is uniformly compressed but not completely hurdle – it is the key to a mountainous seal against rain.

Common Questions and Answers (FAQ) - screw PS3 for Sandwich Panel

What is the uniqueness of PS3’s bipolar geometry and why is it important?

The PS3 screw is built with two different diameters: P1 in diameter 6.3 mm At the edge of the knife – is shook and passes through the subject profile – andP2 in diameter 5.5 mm In the body of the screw that is in the panel. The difference between the two rows creates an “active stabilization” effect: the panel is trapped and lasts between the two screws and cannot be released. The result – the load of the better than the screw in a single diameter, and the resistance is excellent under wind and tremors.

What is the difference between PS3 and PSL and when do you use each?

PS3 Designed for connecting a sandwich panel to(straps/purlins) - relatively thin profiles up to 6 mm thick, with a normal drilling knife (point No. 3). PSL Designed for connecting a panel to(Bams) - Absorient profiles are thicker to 12 mm, thanks to a long drilling knife (point 5) that enables deeper penetration. Both are in bipolar geometry 6.3/5.5 mm.

How do you choose the right PS3 screw length according to the panel thickness?

Calculating the length: the thickness of the Sandwich Panel + the thickness of the presidential profile + minimal overlap of the P1 in the profile (at least 10 mm). For example, a panel of 80 mm on a 3mm profile is required in the screw of at least 93 mm, i.e. choosing PS55098 (98 mm). The manufacturer’s technical database lists the thickness of the panel suitable for each MacT code.

What is EPDM and why is it critical in the PS3?

When PS3 fragments on the roof of a sandwich panel, the screw creates a hole in the metallic shell that can set rain and water into the layer of isolation. PS3 models with EPDM (which reaches default for 195 and 230 mm, and in order for all other lighters) contain an atom disc from EPDM - particularly resistant to UV rays, heat and cold. With the right estrangement, rubber is pressed and creates a rhythmic and perfect seal from the penetration of water around the hole.

Can PS3 connect a sandwich panel to a aluminum profile?

Yes, PS3 is happy to connect with aluminum, but there are two important things to know: first, the supplemental load in aluminum is lower than in steel (especially in thin thickness) - should be operated according to the latest aluminum load table. Second, self-drilling screws in the connection to aluminum in an exposed outdoor environment may cause a global corrosion. Consider using the screws from the grossta (ABEI(In particular, aggressive environments.

What is the difference between Nrd and Nrk (a typical failure load) and what to use the design?

Typical failure load (Nrk) is the prescribed in destructive laboratory tests – the screw or profile courses. Do not plan project by the failure load! Engineers divide the failure load in a suitable safety promotion (according to international standards) to reach the aligned load (Nrd) – which is the safe figure for planning. For conservative planning, we can use the recommended load. Adit provides all three data in technical tables.

Why is the screw knife broken or not broken?

In most cases this occurs due to: the junction at an angle (no 90 degrees per material), a rapid use of a screw up from 1,800 rpm or less than 1,000 rpm, an attempt to drill a thick profile from 6 mm with PS3 (documented to only 6 mm), or non-unitive pressure at the start of the drill. The thicker profiles should be moved toPSL With a long knife, or a series. AUTO.

What is PS3’s glycologic coating and what environments is appropriate?

Lighting up to 180 mm is in the coating. Cold galvanised195 and 230 mm lights come in the coating Atlantis C4 - Advanced and more resistant to difficult external conditions. Cold balloon is suitable for indoor environments and protected cares. For outdoor environments, a coastline, or when an ETA destination is required, consider the use of stainless steel holes.

Can you break up and re-engine the PS3 in the same hole?

The screw can be broken, but Really not recommended Return and use the same hole in the same hole. The double screw (6.3+ 5.5 mm) is swayed in the screw and a guy together, and the repetitive screw will significantly damage the suffering of the fire. In cases of re-disengagement, a new screw should be replaced and promoted if possible at a new point.

What is the recommended barbaric veins for PS3 screws in a roof panel?

The barbaric aroma depends on the wind and snow in the area, in the type of panel and the geometry of the roof. There is no single standard “review” – the planner must calculate the veins according to the relevant serviceloads and the screw load from the tables. Adit engineers are available to help this calculation. Please contact us at Tel Aviv: 1871-7976110.

What is a Sandwich-Panel Screw?

Insulated sandwich panels – two metal skins with a foam or mineral-wool core – are thick, so the fastener has to reach through the whole panel and still drill and grip the steel structure behind it. The ADIT PS3 is a long self-drilling screw built exactly for that: a slim drilling section cuts the steel purlin, and a wider thread higher up grips the panel, fixing the two together in one pass.

The advantage: one screw fixes a thick insulated panel straight to the steel structure – no pre-drilling, no separate fasteners for panel and purlin – for fast, weather-tight roofs and walls.

PS3 is a two-diameter screw (a 5.5 mm drilling section and a 6.3 mm thread) in carbon steel C1035, cold-galvanized for standard use or Atlantis C4-coated in the longest, most exposed lengths. It drills and fastens steel up to 6 mm thick (and aluminium), in lengths from 60 to 230 mm, and takes an EPDM sealing washer for weather-tight roof and wall fixings. For thicker steel – up to 12 mm – use the heavier PSL.

Applications

Insulated roof panels

Fixing sandwich roof panels to steel purlins, weather-tight with an EPDM washer.

Insulated wall panels

Fastening insulated wall and façade panels to the steel structure behind them.

Cold-store & clean-room panels

Thick insulated panels for cold stores, food plants and controlled environments.

Industrial roofing & cladding

Warehouses, sheds and industrial buildings clad in sandwich panels.

Purlin & secondary steel

Fixing straight through the panel into steel purlins and rails up to 6 mm.

Aluminium substructures

Also drives into aluminium; the datasheet gives separate aluminium load values.

Installation Guide

1 · Mark & position

Mark the fixing point and hold the screw perpendicular (90°) to the panel and the steel behind it.

2 · Set the speed

Use a high-speed screwdriver – 1000–1800 rpm in steel. Keep steady pressure through the panel until the point reaches the steel.

3 · Drill through

Let the drilling section cut fully through the steel before the thread engages; keep the total thickness within the drill-point length.

4 · Seat & seal

Stop as the head seats – do not overtighten. With an EPDM washer, compress until the seal just spreads for a weather-tight fixing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PS3 used for?

PS3 fixes insulated sandwich panels to a steel structure in a single pass – mainly roofs and walls. It reaches through the thick panel and drills and grips the steel purlin behind it, so one screw does the whole job.

What is the difference between PS3 and PSL?

Both are long two-diameter panel screws. PS3 drills steel up to 6 mm and comes in lengths from 60 to 230 mm. PSL is the heavier version – it drills steel up to 12 mm and comes in lengths to 285 mm, for thicker panels and structure.

Why does PS3 have two diameters?

The slim drilling section (5.5 mm) cuts a clean hole in the steel purlin, while the wider thread (6.3 mm) higher up grips the panel. This lets one screw both drill the steel and hold the thick panel securely.

Does PS3 give a weather-tight fixing?

Yes – add an EPDM sealing washer, which compresses against the panel skin to seal the fixing against water. The longest lengths (195 and 230 mm) are supplied with an EPDM washer.

What is the difference between Nrk and Nrd?

Nrk is the characteristic failure load; Nrd is the design load the engineer uses – Nrk divided by the safety factors required by the relevant standard. Always design with Nrd. The datasheet lists Nrk, Nrd and recommended (Nrec) values for steel and aluminium.
