What is a female-head concrete screw?

The TFF is a member of the TF concrete-screw family — the same direct-threading technology and the same approvals — but instead of a male head (hex, dome or cone) it has an internally-threaded female head. On site you drill, screw the fastener into the concrete, and then screw a threaded rod, a hook or any other element into it. The suspended element is fitted after the anchor and can be replaced without touching the anchoring itself.

Applications

  • Hanging pipes and ducts: a threaded rod screws directly into the head — water piping, electrical conduit and HVAC.
  • Fire-suppression systems: sprinkler anchoring backed by the CSIC certificate.
  • Hollow-core (Spancrete) slabs: direct anchoring to prestressed and hollow slabs backed by ETA6.
  • Multi-point systems: approved for redundant non-structural systems — modular partitions and infrastructure.
  • Hangers and rails: for elements that will be replaced or removed later, without touching the anchor.
  • Flush at the ceiling: the anchor stays flush with the concrete face, with no protrusion.

Approvals and standards — your ticket to safe construction

  • ETA1 — cracked and non-cracked concrete: the most rigorous approval for mechanical anchors in Europe, covering both cracked and non-cracked concrete.
  • ETA6 — prestressed and hollow concrete: a unique approval for hollow-core (Spancrete) slabs, allowing direct anchoring without additional materials.
  • Seismic C1-C2: critical in Israel as an active seismic zone; C1-C2 are the strictest anchoring requirements.
  • CSIC — sprinklers: a certificate for official use anchoring fire-suppression systems, with full engineering liability.
  • Fire resistance R120: approved by Efectis — maintains structural integrity and load-bearing capacity for two continuous hours.
  • Load resistance: static, semi-static, dynamic and shock loads.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a concrete screw and a chemical anchor?
A concrete screw cuts its thread directly into the drilled hole and forms a mechanical lock with no chemicals — fast and reusable. A chemical anchor uses an adhesive resin, giving higher pull-out capacity in wide holes and weak concrete.
Can a concrete screw be removed and re-installed?
Yes — a key advantage of the TF. It can be removed and returned to its place without materially compromising the anchorage strength, which makes it ideal for hangers and temporary fixings.
Is it approved for cracked concrete and earthquakes?
Yes. It holds a European ETA1 for cracked and non-cracked concrete and a seismic C1-C2 approval — important across Israel’s active seismic zones.
What is the difference between TFE, TH and TX?
Identical screw and approvals; only the corrosion protection differs. TFE is cold-galvanised (dry interior), TH carries the Atlantis C3-M coating (outdoor, coastal, humid), and TX is solid SS316 (A4) stainless for aggressive environments.
Which sizes are approved for hollow-core (Spancrete)?
Officially the 5 mm and 6 mm diameters, matched to the thin lower shell of a Spancrete slab without damaging the internal prestressing strands.
What is the difference between the TFF and the female HC / HE-HC anchors?
The TFF is a male anchor that threads into the concrete and is fully removable and reusable, yet still offers a female thread in its head. The HC and HE-HC are female anchors that stay permanently in the base material — only the bolt screwed into them can be removed.
What is the fire resistance?
R120 (Efectis) — two continuous hours.
