Ben Gurion 11, Rehovot, plot 4 built by Avisror – wet stone cladding with GX-L M10x120 plugs into Ytong, TFE concrete screws for formwork legs
At Ben Gurion 11 in Rehovot, plot 4 built by Avisror, wet stone cladding was fixed with GX-L plugs in M10x120 into an Ytong aerated-block wall, while the formwork legs were fixed with the TFE concrete screw. Anchoring into aerated concrete is a case of its own: the material is light and porous, its capacity is an order of magnitude below ordinary concrete, and failure occurs in the substrate rather than in the anchor. Embedment length and the match between plug and substrate — not the strength of the screw — are what determine capacity.
