The Viva project in Hadera involved rebar dowels, formwork leg connections and wing nuts for the forms. These three represent the less-discussed side of anchoring — the temporary means that hold a pour until it sets. They do not remain in the structure, which makes it easy to treat them as equipment rather than as designed connections; in practice the pressure of fresh concrete against the form is a real load, and the points restraining it are checked exactly like any other connection.
