Pisgat Ze’ev Swimming Pool – rebar dowels set in Chemfix100 epoxy
At the Pisgat Ze’ev swimming pool the rebar dowels were set in Chemfix100 epoxy. Two considerations justified epoxy rather than a fast adhesive: the dowels carry a permanent load, where sustained-load behaviour is the governing criterion, and the environment stays water-saturated for the life of the structure. Chemfix100 needs about 18 hours to reach full cure at 20°C — and in cold conditions, around 5°C, that stretches to roughly 60 hours, a figure that belongs in the programme rather than being discovered on site.
