Sha’ar HaYam, Netanya – chemically bonded rebar dowels and concrete-screw curtain wall connections
The Sha’ar HaYam project in Netanya combines rebar dowels set in chemical adhesive with curtain wall connections made using concrete screws. Both share the same frame but are governed by different axes: a bonded dowel is assessed on bond and on long-term capacity, while a curtain wall connection is assessed on cyclic wind loading and on the edge distances available to it. In a residential project on the coastline, both also meet in the question of corrosion protection.
