The curtain wall at M Tower, Be’er Sheva, is fixed with the MTP-X wedge anchor, approved for use in cracked concrete. A curtain wall connection carries cyclic wind loading into the concrete frame through a small number of points. Anywhere in the tension zone of a structural concrete member a crack must be assumed to exist, and anchor resistance in cracked concrete is significantly lower than the value measured in uncracked concrete — which makes the cracked-concrete classification a design condition here, not a formality.
