Which materials can this diamond bit drill?
It is designed for hard, brittle mineral materials: marble, granite, natural and engineered stone, porcelain and hard ceramic tiles. For ordinary concrete or brick a standard masonry or hammer bit is more suitable.
Should I use the hammer function of my drill?
No. Use rotation only and switch the hammer action off. Hammering can crack brittle stone and damage the diamond coating. Add water for cooling to keep the tip cool and the hole clean.
Why choose a diamond bit over a regular masonry bit for stone?
A diamond bit grinds the material with its diamond-coated edge, producing smooth, chip-free holes without splintering the surface — something a carbide masonry bit cannot achieve in marble or granite.
